| Short Job Spec:
GHP Consultancy Group Ltd is a leading provider of professional services to the construction industry, part of a multi-disciplinary group of companies incorporating architecture, surveying and engineering. We are now seeking a Chartered Structural Engineer to join our Group.
Projects are predominantly within (but not limited to) the commercial and industrial sector and are focused on new build, refurbishment, repairs and investigation.
This will involve as a minimum:
Candidates will have:
· Previous experience in a similar role; · Professional membership status – MISTRUT, MICE, CENG; · Strong AutoCAD skills; · The ability to prepare calculations; · Knowledge and understanding of ISO 90001:2000 accredited quality assurance; · The ability to deal with contractual documentation; · Excellent interpersonal skills and a flexible attitude; · A common sense approach to business and client requirements.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified Chartered Structural or Chartered Civil Engineer, with an appropriate degree or HND level qualification and have membership (or be close to achieving membership) of a relevant engineering institution.
Candidates should have a good understanding of structural design and knowledge of current construction methods, together with excellent computer skills. You will be able to give technical leadership to projects and have the ability to build on existing customer relationships as well as develop new ones. You will have excellent communication and report writing skills, local knowledge and contacts. It is vital that candidates are both technically and commercially minded as the business is currently undergoing extensive growth. A full clean UK driving licence is required.
